Cecilia Vales has 11+ years of experience working with sports for development and education with girls and women from underserved communities in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean. She is the founder and director of She Wins Mexico, a non-governmental organization whose mission is to use sport and education to bring about gender equality, and achieve personal and professional development for their beneficiaries. As part of her professional career she was a delegate of the Global Sports Mentoring Program (GSMP) from the Department of State in 2015 and the eQuality Football Workshop implemented by UN Women and Valencia C.F. She has worked on consultancy projects such as the sports for protection programs implemented by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Mexico, done consultancy for the development programs of the Agitos Foundation of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and worked on a consultation for Nike and Laureus Sport for Good to increase the number of girls participating in sport in Mexico City. Internationally she has experience working in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Spain and the United States. Cecilia has a bachelor degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and a Master in Public Administration from NYU 's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
