Jennifer Brazeau is an Algonquin woman from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg community, a mother of two and a grandmother to two granddaughters. She is dedicated to supporting and advocating for Indigenous communities, particularly in the areas of health, well-being, and rights. Currently, Jennifer serves as the Executive Director of the Centre d’amitié autochtone de Lanaudière (CAAL), where she works alongside her team to address the needs of Indigenous populations in the region through a variety of initiatives focused on health, education, and social services. In addition to her role at CAAL, Jennifer represents the province of Quebec at the National Association of Friendship Centres and serves as an administrator on the Board of the Musée d’art de Joliette. Before taking on these roles, Jennifer spent nearly ten years with the Native Women’s Association of Quebec, where she worked to support the rights and well-being of Indigenous women. Jennifer’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to promoting cultural safety in healthcare and fostering understanding and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
