Holder of a master's degree of science in physical education, Luk Parlavecchio began his career as a high-level amateur rugby player and outreach worker at the Ste-Rose youth center (1999). In 2002, he became the Executive Director of ENvironnement JEUnesse and established the "Cégep vert du Québec" certification. In 2005, he founded the Institut DesÉquilibres and developed sports and outdoor programs to promote the social inclusion of vulnerable youth and young adults. In 2015, he created the RESEAU for psychosocial development through sports and outdoor activities. In 2018, Luk received an Excellence Award for a sports and outdoor project carried out in the community of Opitciwan, in the heart of the Atikamekw Nation. Since 2019, Luk has been actively involved with the network of Indigenous Friendship Centres of Quebec, particularly in Joliette and Trois-Rivières. Since 2021, Luk has been the Director of Mirerimowin (Education, Health, and Social Intervention) at the Centre d’amitié Autochtone de Lanaudière (Lanaudière Indigenous Friendship Centre). In parallel, he is developing a college-level certificate in intervention through sports and outdoor activities, particularly in Indigenous contexts.
