Louis Moustakas is a Professor of Sports Management and Sports Sociology at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein. His work focuses o the delivery, structures and policy underpinning sport for development programmes. He has contributed extensive research on the social impacts of sport, including topics like sport for social cohesion, intercultural education, and the influence of elite institutions on sport for development initiatives. His work often critiques how powerful entities can control and shape sport for development to serve their own interests, which can limit systemic change and sustainable outcomes. In addition, he has published research on a range of subjects, including European sport coaching policy and the use of digital tools in sport education.
